channel mixer, which though being frustrating to work with they still taught the basic techniques. In those days all Louis’ time and hard earned wages went into Dj’ing, with constant upgrades to equipment and always more ‘Latest Tunes’ to order. Mixing good music was by now very definitely in his blood.
DJ’s MC’s I looked up to were DJ EZ, CKP, DJ Luck & MC Neat In with the big names, through both DJ’ing and producing.
It wasn’t long before all the early practice started to pay off with paid sets buying him yet more equipment and even more tunes! Louis’ ambitions were now firmly set on bigger things. Over the next couple of years numerous clubs, near and far as well as some of the mighty London clubs, were added to a growing and impressive list of venues played, as well as two “very happy” summers spent abroad on the DJ/clubbing scene.
Now as a respected professional DJ Louis C has settled with the trusted ‘industry standard’ CDJ 1000s with a DJM 800 mixer and a pair of Technics 1210s - still liking a bit of vinyl!
What hasn’t changed is his love for music, especially UK Garage, but he still keeps a passion for Funky House which he likes to play whenever there’s a chance plus some R & B & Hip Hop to keep it fresh and varied.
Over the years Louis has worked alongside some of the biggest name DJ’s and producers, something that in his youngest days as an aspiring DJ he never dared dream would happen.
Now side-by-side with the equally talented MC Westy SweetBeatz are becoming increasingly well known for supplying powerful Funky House & UK Garage nights to the masses.
Other work currently includes production work, remixes and mashups, projects which all draw on the hard earned talents of SweetBeatz. |
